Frank was selected in the 15th round of the June 1985 MLB players draft by the California Angels at the age of 20. In 1986 he was awarded the most outstanding pitcher in the Midwest League for the last place Quad Cities Angels (7 complete games, 4 shutouts). By 1987 was placed on the 40 man roster for the California Angels and made his MLB debut in 1988.
After only 2 1/2 seasons of minor league baseball, Frank made the jump from single A to the opening day roster for the 1988 California Angels . During that spring he was the recipient of the Fred Haney award, given to the California Angel’s most outstanding spring training player. Compiling a record of 1-0 with one save and an E.R.A. under 1.00 while pitching to such players as Barry Bonds, Ken Griffey Jr., Mark McGuire, Tony Gwynn, Jose Conseco, Matt Williams, Mark Grace and Will Clark to name a few.
After his playing career concluded Frank went on to coach Division 1 Collegiate baseball, first as an assistant coach from 1991-1994 and then as a Head Coach for two season (1996 & 97). His pitching experience ranges from High School, Col-
lege, A, AA, AAA, Winter leagues and Major League Baseball (California Angels). Participated in 3 Major League Spring
trainings, while playing for the Angels, San Diego Padres, and Philadelphia Phillies organizations.
Today, Frank DiMichele has pulled together all his experience and knowledge to create “The Pitching Pro” program. Complete instruction for the serious pitcher who wants to take his game to the next level.
